Malcolm X at 90

19.5.15

On January 19, 1965, a mere 3 weeks before his murder, Malcolm was in Toronto to appear on Front Page Challenge.
This interview is illuminating because it allows Malcolm himself to state his post-Nation of Islam views of anti-racism, inclusion and non-violence (but self defence). He expresses himself with all the candour, patience and charisma you'd expect.
I think it's safe to say that Malcolm's views are more relevant today, on what would have been his 90th birthday, than ever.

On the 50th anniversary of Malcolm X's murder, a remembrance of sorts.

Malcolm's famous speech on his return from Mecca:

An excerpt from Terence Blanchard's jazz suite, based on his score for Spike Lee's brilliant film, Malcolm X.  This music holds such beauty and meaning.  If you can get your hands on the recording, do it.
