Summer is coming!!!

Saturday Zen

24.5.15

I took a walk in High Park on Friday. I was on my way to drop some photos off for a client and I just decided to take the long way. I'm so glad I did. I need to do that more often. It was so nice just to walk and enjoy the sun and the trees. Nature has a way of silencing all the voices. This little creek here made my to-do list shut up for a full five minutes. It was SUPER ZEN.

April was a keep your head down, get the work done, try not to think about the weather kind of month.  Sure it was the official start of Spring but it felt kind of like February with one or two deceptively nice days to try and lull you into thinking things were looking up.  April was a lier.  May, on the other hand, shows nothing but promise.  I've opened my windows, I've dusted, I've got a new notebook! I'm one pedicure away from being totally ready for you May. Let's do this!!!

I ran into this little guy at one of my favourite cafes in New Orleans this week.  He really seemed to be living his life, you know?  Happy Saturday!

Saturday Zen

I'm in the most comfy hotel bed right now and I don't want to get out, ever.  Sigh.

Valentine's Zen

14.2.15

Johnny Cash was asked in an interview what his idea of paradise was.  His answer might be the most romantic thing I've ever heard.  Happy Saturday, friends!

Becca and Zach are getting married today! I've been looking forward to this since a year ago when I first met them and took their engagement photos.  Hooray for Love!

I've been missing New York lately.  I think it's time to start planning a trip with Lenny.  I might be planning it for a couple of years, but that's half the fun, isn't it?

This picture by René Gruau illustrates perfectly how I feel about Summer.

Saturday Zen

My real source of Zen today is taking half an hour to read my book on the front porch with my coffee and then organizing my to-do lists on colour coordinated post it notes.  But in my fantasy I'm eating. On a boat.  Is that so much to ask? ;)

I spent the morning playing with "Tina". She's a seagull who enjoys building nests, listening to seashells, peanut butter sandwiches and Aretha Franklin.

The first place I wanted to go when we got back home to Toronto was the beach.  This little spot always seems like it could have been painted by the Group of Seven.  How's that for Canadiana?  It always makes me feel better to be near the water.  Instant Zen!  Hope you're all having a fab Saturday!

Feeling under the weather today in Nola, but remembering yesterday's trip to Algiers Point is lovely.  Now, keeping my fingers crossed that this is a 24 hour bug, because YUCK.

One of the views from the rooftop of the apartment we're renting in New Orleans.  It feels almost otherworldly and yet so familiar at the same time...

Saturday Zen: Riverdale Farm

A Saturday afternoon at Riverdale Farm with Sarah? That'll fix what ails ya.
