I'm always so excited when I pull back the foil on a new bottle of wine to discover a real cork. A cork made of actual
cork, not plastic and certainly not a screw top. Do I realize that some of the best wines they are making today come in boxes? Yeah, I do. But there's something about that cork that feels special, somehow. It's like finding the prize in the cereal box. That is, until little bits of cork are floating around in your glass of Merlot.
Be careful what you wish for?
I don't think it's "be careful what you wish for". It's more a reminder that we have to take the good with the bad. We can let the cork bits ruin the experience or we can enjoy the wine.
ReplyDeleteYou mean, the bits of cork inside my wine are not meant to convey sophistication (anymore, anyway?)...?
ReplyDeleteArrgh, I am sorely in need of some style-classes!! :(
According to your little updates on the right, you aren't feeling well. Forget metaphor...I'd blame the cork!!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
There is something about a cork. I'm not even into wine but I've gotten into the habit of saving the corks from FI-ance's wine bottles. I've got two. I'm such a collector.
