Paul Simms is a very funny man.

Today, while on my lunch break, I almost choked on my Booster Juice Citrus Splash Smoothee with blueberries instead of bananas and an energy booster of ginsing and bee pollen because Paul Simms is a very funny man. Simms started out writing for David Letterman, was later on the staff of the Larry Sanders Show and then created News Radio. This week, he's written the "Shouts and Murmurs" piece in the New Yorker. It's called Four Short Crushes. Please do not read it if you are ingesting food or drink of any kind. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Oh I LOVED that piece... He is such a good writer. I miss News Radio too. (Have a good day!)
ReplyDeleteThat was seriously funny. "Just cuz I'm a white girl don't mean I dont have junk in the trunk!"
ReplyDeleteAnd really who hasn't hated a crush in the first five minutes??
News Radio. Phil Hartmann was great. Remember the episode where he needed to make extra money and he set up a piano and starting singing for tips in the elevator, the newsroom. That was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteYES! Hartman was doing that Mark Russell type thing. LOL!
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine was the biggest Hartman fan. He would keep me on the phone recounting Hartman stuff. I saw a lot of it on SNL and News Radio, of course, but that didn't stop him. It was his quirk, so I didn't mind.
ReplyDeleteQuite possibly the best quirk ever.
