Winter in the city can be...distressing. The lack of sunlight, the icy sidewalks, the transit delays. Sometimes it all just feels a little isolating. I need to make a real effort to find the silver lining. The thing is, there can be real beauty in steam coming out of sidewalk grates, chunky scarves, rosy cheeks and hearty wildlife, like these city birds I spotted on a downtown rooftop last week. And nothing beats coming home to an electric blanket, a chai tea latte and your favourite TV show.
You just made me want to curl up on the couch with a good book and a hot cup of green tea with lemon and honey. Oh, wait, I've been doing that for a week and a half. Cozy.
